This basic hamburger recipe wins for best flavor and simplicity!
1 pound ground beef, ground pork or ground turkey
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tsp teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 / 2 teaspoon onion salt or garlic salt
1 / 4 teaspoon pepper cup
4 slices of American, Swiss, cheddar or brick cheese (optional)
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Ketchup, mustard, and / or sliced pickles (optional)

1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, pork or turkey, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion salt and garlic salt and pepper. Mix well.
2. Shape meat mixture into four 3/4-inch-thick patties or 1/2-. Place patties on rack of unheated grill. Ase 4.3 inches from heat until no longer pink, turning once. Allow 10-12 minutes for 1/2-inch-thick patties or 15 to 18 minutes for 3/4-inch-thick patties.
3. If you wish, burgers with a slice of cheese. Broil until cheese is melted. Place burgers on toasted buns. If desired, serve with ketchup, mustard, and / or sliced pickle. Makes 4 servings.
